TEMPO.CO, Makassar - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) will audit the increase of vehicle administration fee set forth in Government Regulation No. 60/2016 on non-tax state revenue (PNPB).
BPK Chairman Harry Azhar Azis said that the new bill has caused increases in tariffs of applications for vehicle ownership documents, driver's license and other vehicle-related documents.
"The government has the authority to issue Government Regulation No. 60/2016. It's a deliberation of law," Harry said in Gowa, South Sulawesi, on Monday, January 9, 2017.
Harry clarified that the BPK has no position to propose the tariff amount. However, Harry said that the BPK would audit the tariff hike and its allocation.
"[The decision to increase the tariffs] is on government and House of Representatives' hands. But [the BPK] will conduct an audit in late 2017," Harry revealed.
Harry explained that the vehicle administration tariff had just been enforced, so that the BPK could not audit the regulation immediately. Therefore, the BPK has scheduled to conduct annual audit.
Harry explained that the BPK would not only audit the National Police, but also all state institutions in relation to state finance.
