E.Java to CrackDown on Company Employing Illegal Foreign Workers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - East Java Governor announced the provincial government will crack down on companies that employ illegal workers from China.
The crackdown is also aimed at supervising foreign workers in the province, the Governor said.
"Starting January 2017, we will do the crackdown on the ground,” said Soekarwo to reporters on Saturday(24/12).
Soekarwo added that the move is part of an effort to monitor and take a legal actions against foreign workers who do not obey the law, especially tourists whose stay permit in Indonesia have exported but end up working in Indonesia.
If proven to violate the law, Soekawno said companies that employ those illegal foreign in workers will be given a sanction while the workers will be deported from Indonesia.
In the meantime, Head of East Java Transmigration and Manpower Agency Sukardo said in the crackdown recently, the agency found at least 26 undocumented workers from China in a company in Mojokerto.
