TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil on Friday (23/12) appointed officials from Musyawarah Pimpinan Daerah (Muspida) / Regional Leaders Conference of Bandung city to become members of the illegal levies eradication task force (saber pungli).
The team is led by Deputy Chief of Bandung police AKBP Gatot Sujono and consists of a number of working units.
"Following the instruction given by the President, thank God, today, Bandung sets up Saber Pungli so that we can eradicate negative practices,” Ridwan said on Friday.
The mayor also hopes the team can work smart in eradicating illegal levies in public services.
"We have to be smart in three things: giving education in psychological ways, taking legal actions and changing regulations,” he said.
The team is set to start working in 2017 and Ridwan said that the operational costs would be taken from Bandung regional budget.
"We’re trying to figure out how much it needs. Maybe around Rp3 or Rp4 billion,” he said.
