TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Immigration office has denied entry of four Bangladeshis into Indonesia at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Monday, December 5, 2016. The four individuals known as MDA (37), TRC (37), ARM (36) and SS (37) arrived in Indonesia on a Malindo OD 316 plane at around 4:30 pm Western Indonesia Time, Monday afternoon.
"They have been deported using the [original] plane that carried them," said the immigration office spokesman Heru Santoso Ananta Yudha via a text message on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. They had been denied entry into Indonesia for being unable to state a clear purpose for their visit.
"It was their first entry into Indonesia and their first use of the passports," Heru said, adding that previously, the immigration office had denied entry for SS on November 8, 2016.
According to Heru, the Bangladeshis have allegedly taken advantage of the free visa policy to enter Indonesia, and planned to leave the country illegally before entering Malaysia.
