Jokowi Urged Ministries, Agencies to Focus on Corruption

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - During the opening event of the National Conference on Corruption Eradication 2016, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo urged state agencies and ministries to make eradication of corruption in the public sector as top priority.
"On corruption eradication, I have asked all ministries and agencies to prioritize licensing and public sector reforms," Jokowi said in his opening speech on Thursday, December 1, 2016, as quoted by Antara.
Jokowi said to the participants of the conference that he expects to see better corruption eradication efforts in state licensing agencies including in land administration services, health services, education services, sailing, aviation and weighbridges.
The President has also called for reforms the governance of tax and state revenue, particularly in food and natural resources management.
"In addition, we have to make improvement of transport, grant distribution, social assistance and procurement of goods and services as priority," Jokowi said.
