Tangerang Police Confiscate 1,000 Illegal Tranquilizer Pills

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Tangerang police have confiscated 1,000 tranquilizer pills sold by a perfume seller in a shop in Gembong village, Balaraja sub-district.
"This arrest was made following reports from the residents. The police then moved to confiscate the evidence,” said Head of Tangerang Resort Police Comr. Sr. Asep Edi Suheri in Tangerang on Sunday.
Asep added that selling tranquilizers may not be done recklessly because it has to be brought on doctor’s prescription. The pills were often misused by teenagers to get drunk.
In this case, the police arrested Mn (35) as the owner of the shop and Ti (28) as the staff who sold the pills. Both of them are charged with Law Number 36 of 2009 on Health and the charge carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
