TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A survey conducted on the third week of this month by Bank Indonesia shows that the rate of inflation reaches 0.09%, BI economic and monetary policy executive director Juda Agung said.
According to him, in the second week of this month, the inflation reached 0.04 %.
“It is still pretty low. All prices go down. All prices of food commodity decrease, except chillies,” he said.
In the meantime, Center of Reform on Economics (Core) Research Director Mohammad Faisal claimed that consumption tends to weaken after Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
The effect of consumption increase by the end of the year has not kicked in and is estimated to occur on November reaching its peak on the last week of December.
He estimated that the inflation of this month will be at the level 0.11% (mtm) or 3.27% (yoy) due to the raised prices of a few food commodities such as chillies with its 30% increase, yet on average the prices of food increase by 4%.
“Rupiah has get stable and tends to get stronger and it affects the prices of foods that are partly imported,” he added.
