TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned lender PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. is aiming to have 9 million e-money card users by the end of the year.
Bank Mandiri Director for Retain Banking Tardi said that the current number of e-money cards in circulation are 8.26 million.
“In the third quarter last year, the number of our e-money [cards in circulation] are 6.13 million. We will continue to develop our electronic money [service] to support cashless society,” he said Tuesday in Jakarta, as quoted by Bisnis Indonesia.
Tardi said that transaction volume has increased by 47.7% year-on-year to 264.9 million by September 2016. Whereas transaction value grew by 38% year-on-year to Rp2.5 trillion.
Bank Mandiri Director for Finance & Treasury Pahala N. Mansury said that the company has made significant investments, particularly in toll road payment service vie e-Toll.
“We focus more on marketing and branding,” he said.
