Jokowi Hopes Jakarta-Surabaya Toll Road to be Connected by 2019

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo confirms that the progress of toll road development that links Jakarta and Surabaya has gone according to plan.
He made the remark after he visited Solo-Kertosono toll project in Kilometer 23 in Waru village, Karanganyar, Central Java, on Saturday (15/10).
He stated that there has been no serious obstacles in building the roads. He believes that Semarang-Solo toll road will be completed on May 2018, while Solo-Ngawi toll road will be completed sooner, which is on October 2017.
After that, Ngawi-Ketosono toll road is to be completed in 2018. "I keep tracking down the progress," said Jokowi. He expects Jakarta-Surabaya toll road can be connected in 2019. "It’s 1,200 kilometers in total."
In addition to toll roads in Java, Jokowi continues to monitor other freeway projects in other regions. “There has been no serious issues in building toll roads in Sumatera, Kalimantan as well as Bitung-Manado,” He said.
