TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Government plans to complete the construction of 65 reservoirs in a number of regions in a bid to provide water resource infrastructures to support food security, flood management, and water supply.
“Of the 65 reservoirs, 16 have been built since 2015. Meanwhile, 49 others are being built this year,” said the Minister of Housing and Public Works Basuki Hadimukjono on Wednesday, October 5, 2016.
In his working visit to Banjarmasin, Basuki observed four irrigation projects, namely the constructions of Tapin Dam in Tapin District, with the contract value of Rp 896,9 billion; Amandit Irrigation Region in Hulu Sungai District (Rp96.7 billion); Batang Alai Irrigation Area, Hulu Sungai Tengah District (Rp234.5 billion); and also Pitap Irrigation Area in Balangan District with Rp265,5 billion.
The construction plan is on the track and none of it has to be stopped so that it is expected to be completed as it is scheduled.
