TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Trigana Air cargo plane that skidded on Wamena Airport on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, was reported to carry a load of fuel and food supplies.
"The plane was carrying staple foods, and we also worked together with Pertamina to provide fuel to the people of Wamena," said Triguna Air operational director Benny Sumaryanto on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
The TGN7321 airplane skidded off the runway at 7:30 AM local time. The plane was manned by three crews: pilot Jatmiko, co-pilot Joshua, and flight operation officer Iwan Sapturi, and was carrying 15 tons of goods. Benny added that the crews have managed to evacuate the plane’s cargo.
"There were no casualties, they were all successfully evacuated,"Benny stated.
Benny said that he is still waiting for an investigation by the National Committee on Transportation Safety (KNKT) to uncover the cause of the accident. Benny also confirmed that the plane had suffered damages.
"There will be an inquiry. For the mean time, we’ll wait for an investigation by the KNKT," Benny said.
