TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Protocol Division of Istiqlal Mosque Abdul Salam Abu Hurairah estimated that around 150,000 people are expected to flock to the Mosque, to perform the Eid al-Adha prayer.
Istiqlal Mosque can accommodate a capacity of about 200,000 people.
"The number of people praying Idul Adha prayer is bigger than during Eid Day because not many people go home to their hometowns," said Abu Hurairah on Sunday (11/9).
In the meantime, the mosque itself will distribute 23 cows and 21 goats, all of which will be distributed to communities around the Mosque.
Abu said that the whole meat of the sacrificial animals will be delivered directly by the committee.
