TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry has expressed its readiness to resume construction of the National Education and Training Center and Sports Facilities (P3SON) project in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java.
“The audit results of the PUPR Ministry Technical Audit Team show that the contours of land of the area are a little vulnerable, however, it can still be addressed by reducing the construction load,” said Research and Development head Arie Setiadi Moerwanto, who is also a member of the audit team, in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara news agency.
He explained that the construction of Hambalang project, which was designed in 2010, had used old regulation on earthquake resistant building.
“The PUPR Ministry will issue a new earthquake map so that we have to make adjustments to it,” he added.
However, according to him, the land and structures standing on Hambalang area are in good shape, because it still stood firmly despite a halt to construction in 2011 and it has not experienced a significant land movement.
“The condition of the concrete, the structure is above the average requirement,” Arie said.
