TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As part of the working visit to China, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo met with Chinese entrepreneurs in Yu Hang District, Hangzhou, where the President visited the headquarters of Alibaba Group, Chinese e-commerce giant.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Alibaba, Jack Ma welcomed the president during the visit.
According to President Jokowi, the Indonesian government needs to learn more about Alibaba in order to help market Indonesian, in the Chinese market.
The products of small and medium businesses main concern of the Government, Jokowi said.
Meanwhile, Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara who join the group said Jack Ma and President Jokowi shared the same view of SMEs.
"SMEs should be empowered to take advantage of this technology (e-commerce)," Rudiantara said.
