TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union (SBMI) of Indramayu, Juwarih, confirmed that Tarsinah, a female Indonesian migrant worker from Indramayu, West Java, returned to Indonesia on Saturday (20/8).
The 37-year-old woman has become a migrant worked in Iraq for 2.5 years.
Juwarih said Tarsinah returned home onboard Qatar Airline and arrived at 07:40am at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang.
When confirmed on Saturday, Juwarih said that he was waiting for Tarsinah`s arrival at Soekarno-Hatta airport.
Tarsinah left for Iraq to be a maid. She was promised to get huge salary of about US$300 each month. Unfortunately, the reality is not as beautiful as she expected. Tarsinah did not feel comfortable with her job because she was often abused by her employers.
According Juwarih, Tarsinah work with an illegal status in Iraq. She worked in Iraq without the permits from the migrant workers placement agencies (PJTKI).
Tarsinah departed from Jakarta to Batam, and then left for Selangor. Once there, she connected a trip to Kuala Lumpur and then to Abudabi and ended up in Iraq.
