TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Having made her comback as the Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani will focus on implementing the 2016 state budget (APBN) prepared by her predecessor Bambang Brodjonegoro. According to her, the state budget is the foundation for improvements in the national economy. “The priority is the coordination in the APBN in terms of budget planning, also the details in financing and spending,” Sri Mulyani said during transfer proceedings in the office building of the Finance Ministry, Jakarta, July 27, 2016.
Sri will make adjustments to fiscal sector improvements in accordance with monetary policy. In addition, fiscal policy will also be improved to boost efforts in reducing poverty, increasing employment opportunities and regaining public trust.
Sri also highlighted the tax amnesty program which was signed by Bambang on June 29, 2016. After only one week of implementation, Sri will review the agreed target of tax amnesty program in the revised 2016 state budget. “I will look closely at the plan and discuss it with all echelon I [officials] to identify the main priority and room for improvement,” said the former World Bank managing director.
