TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Millions of Britons made a historical vote to leave the European Union in a referendum Thursday night, June 23, 2016, London time. This result will affect the fates of 28 European countries as well as UK's political elites including Prime Minister David Cameron.
On Friday, Al Jazeera reported that 90 percent of the ballots casted, with the Britain Exit or 'Brexit' group getting 52 percent of the vote.
"Prime Minister David Cameron chose to stay with the European Union," Al Jazeera wrote Friday, June 24.
When asked if Cameron should step down from his post following the result of the referendum, UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader Nigel Farage—who voted for a British exit—said yes.
Farage seemed happy as he made a speech in front of his supporters. "Dawn is breaking over Independent UK," he said to a cheering crowd.
