TEMPO.CO, Entikong - Entikong Customs Officials have managed to foil an attempt to smuggle hundreds of mobile phones and dozens of bags of sugar from Malaysia during an inspection at the Cross Border Inspection Post (PPLB) in Entikong on Sunday, June 19, 2016.
The inspection was prompted by information on suspected illegal electronic devices import from Malaysia via the Entikong PPLB. The illegal goods were confiscated from a transport vehicle owned by an international courier company.
In total, the Entikong Customs official confiscated six boxes, each containing 20 mobile phones, and 96 bags of sugar.
The suspects, bus drivers AY and YS, and the illegal goods owner MY, will be charged for violating Article 102 (e) of Law No. 10/1995 as amended by Law No. 17/2006.
