Bogor to be designated as `City of Runners`

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto said that he wants to make Bogor a ‘city for runners’ in order to attract as many running community run to the city.

"We will make Bogor a city of runners," said Bima in Bogor on Sunday.

According to Bima, Bogor’s weather is cool and comfortable and the city is also full of green so it is suitable for running sports.

In addition, he said that the contours and landscape of the city are also suitable for runner.

"Every Saturday and Sunday many communities go to Bogor to run at the Bogor Botanical Gardens, as well as other gardens that we have built," Bima added.

Seeing the rapid growth running community in Greater Jakarta, Bima said that he wants to use the opportunities to attract as many running community in Bogor.

"This year Bogor will build pedestrian sidewalks around the Botanical Garden and the Bogor Presidential Palace. It is four meters wide and is suitable for people who want to run, go biking or jogging," Bima added.
