TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-A member of the House of Representatives, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Andi Mumammad Ghalib has passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Medistra Hospital, Pancoran, South Jakarta.
Ghalib was a member of the House’s Commission I which is responsible for defense, intelligent, foreign affairs, communications and informatics. He was a member of United Development Party (PPP) faction of South Sulawesi II electoral district. The former Attorney General of reform era of 1998-1999 was born in Bone on June 3, 1946.
“He passed away around 6 in the morning,” the head of PPP faction in the House’s Commission I Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah told Tempo on Monday, May 9. Dimyati said Ghalib died from complications of internal organs. “He had also been getting weaker and old.”
Dimyati sees Ghalib as an active man. “He was a kind man, former attorney general, lieutenant general. He has self-discipline,” said Dimyati.
Ghalib was also an Indonesian Ambassador to India in 2008-2013.
