TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno and Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between 12 state-owned enterprises to develop Yogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang tourism industries called “Spirit Joglosemar”.

SOEs involved in the cooperation include PT Garuda Indonesia, PT Angkasa Pura, PT Kereta Api Indonesia, PT Pelindo, PT Perhutani, Indonesia Natour, Perum damri, Aerowisata, PTP IX, Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko Tourism Park, and PT Citilink.

“The Joglosemar tourism golden triangle has a huge potential to attract tourists visiting Indonesia,” Rini said during the inauguration of the Trimurti Closed State at the Prambanan Temple Complex.

Rini revealed that the transportation network connecting the three cities would increase the number of tourists visiting tourism objects in Yogyakarta, Solo and Semarang.

“We thank the Yogyakarta and Central Java administrations who are willing to work with state-owned enterprises to realize the Spirit Joglosemar,” she added.

The SOEs Ministry added that the government had set a target to increase the number of tourists visiting the Borobudur temple by ten folds or two million people within three years.

Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X hopes that the synergy between the Yogyakarta administration and the Central Java administration can optimize the tourism development endeavors.
