TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - East Java Governor Soekarwo said that Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo would be developed by following the concept of Incheon Airport in South Korea.
However, he hoped that Juanda Airport would someday be better than Incheon Airport.
After Terminal 3 and two new runways have been built, Soekarwo is optimistic that Juanda Airport would become one of the biggest airports in Asia.
"We learn the concept of Incheon Airport," Soekarwo told to Tempo on Saturday (23/4)
Soekarwo added that the development of Juanda Airport would be developed with the airport city concept, which means that the airport would not only be used for passengers but also as a place for recreation and shopping.
"The airport would be developed on a 6,000 hectares of land,” he added.
