Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3 Ultimate to Operate in May 2016

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is expecting to operate Terminal 3 Ultimate in Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, for domestic flights in May 2016.

President Director of Angkasa Pura II Budi Karya Sumadi said Terminal 3 Ultimate will fully operate in March 2017 with passenger capacity per year reaching 25 million. “It will operate for domestic [flights] this May, SkyTeam will launch in September, and [the terminal] will fully operate in March next year,” he said at Pertamina Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 13, 2016.

Terminal 3 Ultimate is dubbed as the most modern passenger terminal with floor area of 442,804.50 m2 or equal to 59 football fields. It has 10 boarding gates of international flights and 18 boarding gates of domestic flights.

Angkasa Pura II is planned to allocate 18 million passengers to both PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk and airlines incorporated in the SkyTeam, while the rest will be allocated to other airlines with international routes.

Budi said that 20 percent of Terminal 3 construction is funded from bond issue, the rest is from internal fund and bank loans. The total project fund reaches Rp5.4 trillion.

The terminal construction is carried out by consortium company Kawahapejaya Indonesia KSO, which consists of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk, PT Jaya Teknik, PT Indulexco, PT GMDI, serta PT Atelier 6 Arsitek, Aecum, dan Hyundai.
