TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An Indonesian film titled “#66” will participate in the 6th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) on April 16-23.
The action film produced in October 2015 was directed by Asun Mawardi, featuring Donita as one of its leading actors.
Head of Information and Social-Cultural Function of Indonesian Embassy in Beijing Santo Darmosusanto on Wednesday said that Indonesian film participation in the BJIFF would make a positive impact in introducing Indonesian films.
“Its participation could at least provide added value on Indonesia to Chinese people, particularly Beijing, on Indonesia and its cinema,” he said.
A written statement of BJIFF selection committee told Antara news agency that the committee has received 2,329 films from 105 countries, consist of 1,964 foreign films and 365 local films.
The committee will choose 500 films to be be screened at around 25 movie theaters and five universities. #66 will be screened three times.
Chinese film industry is the biggest in Asia and the third biggest in the world.
An Indonesian film titled “The Mirror Never Lies” directed by Kamila Andini also participated in the BJIFF of 2013 edition.
