TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Strong wind collapsing the roof of Cikunir-2 toll gate can cause a shutdown for two days. Corporate Secretary PT Jasa Marga Mohammad Sofyan said the closing of Cikunir-2 toll booth of Jakarta Outer Ring Road will be for two days or until Tuesday, February 16.
“To ensure the safety and security of road users, Cikunir-2 toll booth will be temporarily closed for the next two days,” he said in a short message Sunday, February 14, 2016.
Sofyan said his agency has temporarily diverted traffic flow in the location to Halim, Jakarta.
On Sunday at 2.20pm the four meters roof of Cikunir-2 toll gate collapsed following the heavy rain along with strong wind blows.
“The toll booths are accesses to Jakarta-Serpong-Soekarno Hatta Airport and Tangerang toll roads,” said Public Relations Sub-section Chief of Bekasi Police First Insp. Puji Astuti.
14 toll booths were forced to be closed causing long congestion inside the toll roads heading to Bekasi.
Related parties have attempted to unravel congestions by deploying six traffic officers along with highway patrols from the Regional Police at Cikunir-2 toll booth.
