TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu promised to improve the maintenance of the government's fighter planes following the recent air force's Super Tucano plane crash in Blimbing, Malang, East Java on Wednesday morning, February 10, 2016.
"New regulation clearly tightens procurement and maintenance [process]. Maintenance is important," said Ryamizard on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
Ryamizard said that he has no information on what had caused the crash. The Minister said that the Defense Ministry will conduct an investigation. "[The government] will evaluate every incident. We will see whether it was caused by the weather, [human error] or the engine," Ryamizard said.
Earlier this morning, a Super Tucano aircraft belonging to the Indonesian Air Force crashed into a house in Malang during a flight exercise.
