TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Administration held a soft-launch of the Jakarta Smart City Lounge at the City Hall, which would be opened for public.
“The facility will be opened for public and is expected to be a new tourist destination,” Jakarta Smart City technical manager Setiaji said on Saturday, January 2, 2016.
The official launch of the new facility is scheduled to be held on the Jakarta Anniversary on June 22, 2016.
The lounge is a facility to support the implementation of the Jakart Smart City, an application initiated by the city administration to serve as the city information center.
“All Smart City facilities will be controlled from here,” Jakarta Information and Communications Agency head Ii Kurniawan said during the launch.
The Jakarta Smart City Lounge was established in a room of 500 square meters. Setiaji revealed that the lounge featured a command center with an LED wall and latest equipment. In addition, the lounge has a Co-Working Space for startup companies, including iJakarta app, who support the Jakarta Smart City program.
Setiaji hopes that that the new facility will help the government to craft creative ideas and new applications to meet current and tomorrow’s challenges.
