TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - German automaker Audi is facing examination by German attorneys as investigation to the emission scandal that strangles its parent organization Volkswagen (VW) continues.
As reported by Autoblog on November 13, attorneys in Ingolstadt will focus on Audi while the attorneys in Braunshweig continues probe on Volkswagen. It is said, however, that investigation is too early to identify any suspects.
There are 2.1 million of vehicle units distributed by Audio worldwide. These units are believed to use the same Volkswagen Group’s emission-cheating diesel engine. Aroung 13,000 to 14,000 of the units are distributed in the United States.
The United States Environment Protection Agency (EPA) had previously found deviation on testing result of VW, Audi and Porsche cars that are using 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine. Automakers responded to this finding by temporarily stopping sale of the models.
