TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Standardization Agency (BSN) will hold Indonesia Quality Expo (IQE) 2015 on November 9-10 at the Jakarta Convention Center to commemorate the national quality month.
“We held this event on an annual basis,” Budi Rahardjo, the head of legal, organization and public relation bureau at the National Standardization Agency, said on Friday, November 6, 2015, adding that the commemoration of the national quality month was initiated in 1991.
Budi added that at least 25 small and medium enterprises would participate promoting their products, such as batik, organic rice, handicraft and various culinary from the Archipelago. According to Budi, SMEs’ involvement at the IQE 2015 reflects that SMEs are ready to implement the Indonesian National Standard requirement.
“In the end, this will lead to a readiness to welcome the ASEAN free trade to be implemented on January 1, 2016,” Budi added.
Budi hopes that the event will become a forum to discuss topics related to quality improvement in a bid to craft the strategy needed to compete in the global market.
