TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Financial Services Authority (OJK) recorded that the Social Security Agency (BPJS) has pooled in Rp72.3 trillion of premium revenues as of the third quarter of 2015.
At the end of September, the agency's social insurances program, both provided by its healthcare (BPJS Kesehatan) and labor (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) departments also paid Rp53.5 trillion in claims, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Tuesday, November 3.
Irfan Humaidi, BPJS Kesehatan's spokesperson, said the agency booked Rp39 trillion in premium income, but had to pay over Rp41 trillion in claims; resulting in a Rp1.5-trillion deficit.
"Even after the Rp5 trillion disbursement of the 2015 state capital participation (PMN), we are still experiencing a mismatch of Rp1.5 trillion," he said on Monday, November 2.
According to the OJK's records, Indonesia's social insurance asset per September 2015 reached Rp216.6 trillion, or down 1.0 percent from August's Rp218.9 trillion.
