Ahok: Better Use GPS Than Gate for ERP Project

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama admitted that he is currently considering mixing Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) installation with Global Positioning System (GPS). The system is deemed can save much budget.

After got back from Singapore, We’re thinking about GPS trial rather than using ERP Gate ,” he said at City Hall, Wednesday (10/28).

Ahok added by using GPS, budget needed is cheaper that building ERP gate as it exists today. "Build a gate cost billion rupiah, better to use GPS," he expressed.

He interests with that GPS system though there will be delay in the development.

“We are reviewing and calculating. Better late than change whole system even it cost much money,” he uttered.

As known, ERP trial with gate has been applied in two locations. There are located on Jl Jenderal Sudirman that managed by PT Kapsch from Sweden while second one on Jalan Rasuna Said by PT Q-Free.
