TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki Purnama Tjahaja (Ahok) stated yesterday that a leader should never be accepting bribes, because it does not reflect the sense of social justice to the people.
He asserted that a leader must not favor anyone, except to public interest.
"A leader must favor the public interest. It should not be receiving a bribe thus you do not deflect social justice to the people," said Ahok, when he became as a speaker in the 2015 National Seminar with topic 'Bureaucratic Reforms and Leadership Reality As well as Needed in the Future' at the Auditorium of Indonesian Institute of Police Science (PTIK), Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Tuesday (10/27).
The important thing, he exclaimed, is that a leader must be able to fulfill the needs of people's brain, stomach and wallet. The brain must be filled with educational and spiritual, stomach with healthy and nutritious foods, and wallet with good purchasing ability.
"Every leader must also be polite. Learn some manners and be better in future," he uttered.
