TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Minister of Education and Culture instructs to stop school activities for area impacted by the haze. In such condition, healthiness and safety are the main priorities.
"When the haze is out of control, education ranked number two. The students don’t have to worry if they will get left behind," Said Anis on Thursday, October 22.
According to Anies, government will make an adjustment for the students and teachers live in the haze disaster areas.
He also asked the teacher to not also force to go to school and teaching. Based on the report Anies received, many teachers force themselves to go as they worried if there would be salary cutting due to the less working hours.
However, it does not mean they do not have to study at all. As the substitution, government will produce educative programs for students so they do not have to go out and able to study at home.
Previously, schools in Pekanbaru, Riau have also stopped their academic activities for a month due to haze disaster. The policy released by the schools based on the instruction from local education official.
