TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law, and Security, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that the government is set to add more planes to deal with raging bush fire in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua. "We might add up to 15 planes," he said on Tuesday October 20.
The government will be needing some heavy-duty plane for the waterbombing purpose, such as air tractor, pelican bombardier, and BE-200. Luhut said that the planes will help resolve the bush fire.
The number of airborne units for waterbombing is decreasing as Malaysia and Australia have withdrawn their planes. "We will ask Malaysia again because pelican bombardier is very effective," he said.
