TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-State-owned Bank Nasional Indonesia Tbk (BNI) recorded a 14.6 percent credit growth to Rp307.12 trillion in the third quarter of 2015. President director Ahmad Baiquni said the growth was supported by an increase in disbursements from business banking and the consumers sector.
The disbursement in business banking was dominated by the medium scale segment (27.8 percent), followed by corporate (26.2 percent) and SOEs (17.7 percent).
In the consumer credits sector, the highest growth came from BNI Fleksi—the bank's personal loan segment—and credit card financing
According to Bank Indonesia (BI), as per August 2015 BNI was the leader of Indonesia's credit card market.
In the same quarter, BNI's credit for infrastructure grew 6.6 percent to Rp63.73 trillion.
Despite high credits achievements, BNI is projected to suffer a profit decline this year. As of September 2015, BNI only managed to pool in Rp6 trillion in profits, down from 2014's Rp10.4 trillion.
"We can only book Rp1.2 trillion in profit each month, so I guess we won't be able to keep with last year's achievement," Baiquni said.
