TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Management of the state-owned shipping company (PT Pelni) opens cruising route to one of Indonesia’s flagship travel destination Raja Ampat in West Papua. The cruise will start on October 29 from Sorong and end on November 1.
Head of PT Pelni Jayapura, Budi Trisnawa said the trip is aimed to facilitate local tourists who have difficulties to reach Raja Ampat.
“The concept is that Pelni’s ship will be the floating hotel that also serves meal. Tourists will be brought to touristic spots in the area,” said Budi in Jayapura on Thursday.
The company is targeting to have 150 people aboard KM Tatamailau that has capacity of one thousand people.
“Pelni is not looking for huge profit, but we prioritize safety and comfort for the tourists,”
Price tag for the trip is Rp6.9 million for class I package, Rp5.5 million for class II package and Rp4.4 million for economy package.
