TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Sunburst Field, South Tangerang, Banten, attended the National Family Day main event.

Donning a green batik, the President was attended by First Lady Iriana Widodo and a number of cabinet ministers, including Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of Health Nila Moeloek, Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Yohanna Yambise, and other ministers.

South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany, Acting Banten Governor Rano Karno, and several regional government officials also attended the event.

Based on the Presidential Decree Number 39 of 2014, the government has declared 29 June as the National Family Day in an effort to disseminate the importance of small, happy and prosperous family to the people. However, it is not declared as a holiday.
