TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Despite it is Ramadan, it does not dampen citizens to visit the Ragunan Zoo, which is one of the local favorite recreational sites in South Jakarta. The average number of visitors who visit the zoo every day is about 3,000 to 5,000 people.
"Visitors who visit Ragunan Zoo during Ramadan is still stable as usual day. It is probably in conjunction with school holiday," said Ragunan Zoo Public Relation, Wahyudi Bambang, Friday.
Bambang recorded, the number of visitors on regular day is not much different during Ramadan, that is between 3,000 to 5,000 people.
Wawan, (33), one of the visitors from Serang stated he purposely goes for recreation to Ragunan Zoo for filling his children's school holiday. He prefers to go in Ramadan as the place is not too crowded.
"It is my children's school holiday. I take them while ngabuburit (spending time waiting for breakfasting) as the zoo would be not too crowded compared to Eid al-Fitr,"
Definitely, the zoo is very enthused by citizens as an affordable recreational site. There are 1,900 animal of 210 species on the 140-hectare land.
