TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spokesman Priharsa Nugraha said KPK employees would gather at the KPK headquarters on Friday following the arrest of KPK investigator Novel Baswedan by the police.
“The employees will gather at around 8 a.m., including KPK leader Johan Budi,” he said in his office.
The police arrested Novel at around 12:20 a.m. at his private residence under an arrest warrant issued by the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) for skipping police questioning twice.
The police charged Novel with the 2004 shooting of a swallow’s nest thief in Bengkulu. Although Novel was not the shooter, said the police, Novel was still implicated as he was the chief of the Bengkulu City Police’s detective department that time.
