According to Ahok, most of the public transportation modes in Jakarta including buses, only operate during rush hours, which is on the morning and the afternoon. These times were chosen by bus drivers because it could generate the highest number of passengers.
The poor quality of buses in Jakarta is considered to be not enough reason for transportation organizers to replace their buses. The government later asked all bus operators to join PT TransJakarta so that they could be given incentives to replace their old buses "Mayasari, Kopaja, Kopami and Metromini buses have agreed," said Ahok.
