Lion Air Denies Striking Pilots Rumors

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - CEO of Lion Group Edward Sirait claimed that there has not been any strike in the airline, especially from the flight crews. "News about air crews were striking is not true at all," said Edward in a press conference.
Edward said that the delayed flights began on Wednesday last week, mostly because field operators were not tactical in making decision. Internal investigation led to a recommendation that Lion Air needs to strengthen crisis control management at the airport, including on managing delays. Moreover, the set of recommendations includes Lion’s improving its human resources quality, in which the airline plans to form a special team to handle such crisis situation.
As for the severe delays, Edward said that Lion Air had decided cancel flights between 17:00 and 24:00 on Friday. The seven-hour break was used to check and reset flight operational on Saturday. Passengers who supposedly board on that day will be given 100 percent refund and a free flight.
