TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) provincial government has proposed the creation of four new regencies in the province to the central government.
Two new autonomous regions (DOB) are currently still waiting for the approval from the House of Representatives (DPR)
"Creation of Adonara autonomous region and Maumere city are still waiting for approval from the DPR established," said Head of Government Administrative Bureau of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Secretary, Silvester Banfatin.
Two other autonomous regions, Pantar regency, which was formerly part of Alor regency Kabupaten and Amanatun new autonomous region, which was formerly part of Timor Tengah Selatan regency still waiting for verification from the central government because it was proposed in October 2014.
Silvester also said that based on the result of the verification of the creation of Adonara new autonomous region and Maumere city, the government has declared the proposal to be complete and has been proposed to the DPR and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) to be deliberated and established.
