TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thousands of protestors are gathering in front of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Building in Kuningan, South Jakarta. The crowd, which began to congregate since 13.00, has since grew and around a thousand people are now at the location.
Thousands of people have crowded the pedestrian bridge, busway shelter and sidewalk in front of the KPK building, disrupting the traffic.
The growing crowd has forced scores of security personnel to ramp up security at KPK's two entrances, and police officials are screening all individuals seeking to enter the vicinity of the building.
It has been reported that an oration by the Indonesian Metal Workers' Union (FSPMI) almost turned violent when its organizers demanded a national television network to apologize for misreporting the event surrounding the arrest of a senior KPK member.
