TEMPO.CO, Medan – The North Sumatera Police forensic team and the Medan City Police found 20 pieces of suspected human bones buried underneath the floor of a house used as a shelter for domestic workers. The shelter belongs housemaids supplier CV Maju Jaya, run by married couple Syamsul Anwar and Radika.

The police suspect that the bones belong to victims that were abused by the owners.

"The bones will be examined by the Disaster Victim Identification unit to see if they are indeed human bones or not," said police chief Comm. Nico Afinta yesterday.

The North Sumatra Police chief Insp. Gen. Sutedjo Eko Hadi said the team will run DNA tests with the family members of female domestic workers who were declared missing since they started working at CV Maju Jaya.

"There are at least 160 female workers who had worked in Maju Jaya," said Eko.
