TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Teguh Juwarno, a member of the National Mandate Party Faction at the House of Representatives, considered that manpower issues in Indonesia are not always about Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI), but are also related to foreign workers (TKA) in Indonesia.
According to Teguh, the challenge faced by the Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri is not an easy one.
“Being a Manpower Minister must be ready to face all possible consequences,” Teguh said in a discussion on Saturday, November 8, 2014, in Jakarta.
Hanif responded Teguh’s statement, as saying “To migrant worker suppliers (PJTKI), I just want to say that I want to go to heaven but not alone.” Hanif said that there were some migrant worker suppliers out there with good faith.
Hanif said that he would not hamper migrant worker suppliers’ business but he will ensure that those migrant worker suppliers will prioritize service and protection for the workers. Hanif added that the main issue in Indonesia is related to Industrial affairs, including salary and training.
I’m planning to audit all migrant worker suppliers to ensure that they have met the standards,” Hanif said.
