TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will announce the results of the recent impromptu visit it made with the Jakarta administration to the Vehicle Emissions Test Center in Kedaung Kali Angke, West Jakarta. KPK deputy chairman Bambang Widjojanto said the KPK would also release the results of its study on the facility.
“We promise to release the inspection and study results in the third week of August,” Bambang said at the KPK building on Monday, August 4, 2014.
Bambang said the Indonesian graft buster also mulled over making other sudden inspections to other public service centers.
Earlier, Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, KPK deputy chairman Bambang Widjojanto, Jakarta regional secretary Saefullah and provincial inspectorate head Franky Mangatas made an impromptu visit to the Vehicle Emissions Test Center in West Jakarta. They found broken vehicle test equipment and apparent kickbacks amounting to Rp8 million in denominations of Rp100,000 and Rp50,000 on one of the staffers’ desk.
The test center was temporarily shut after the inspection.
