TEMPO.CO, Gaza - The airstrikes launched by the Israeli military to Gaza yesterday killed at least 74 Palestinians. The victims were mostly civilians. According to the Health Ministry of Palestine, eight family members, including five children, were killed in the airstrike yesterday morning that demolished at least 2 houses in Khan Younis, South Gaza.
Palestininian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attack and said that this war is not against Hamas or any other factions, but against the people of Palestine.
Israel admitted to have attacked more than 750 targets to stop Hamas' missile strikes, which started last month when the Israeli military captured Hamas' members during the search for the three missing teenagers who were later found dead. According to Israel, Hamas fired 365 rockets since Tuesday, but some was intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system.
The attacks caused serious injuries to the people of Israel, although the numbers were unclear. The fighting has shut down business activities in southern Israel and caused more than 100,000 people to seek safety in Tel Aviv. The capital was also attacked by Hamas missiles yesterday but was intercepted by the Iron Dome.
