TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A conflict between the Israel and Palestine has killed at least 23 people across Gaza in a bombardment. Israel has said that it may be just the start of a lengthy offensive against Islamist militants Hamas whose rockets struck deeper than ever before into Israel.
Reuters reported that explosions echoed day and night in Gaza strip, shaking buildings and sending up plumes of smoke. At least 17 civilians, including five children, were among the 23 dead.
The attack, recorded as the worst to gave occurred in Gaza since November 2012, began as three Israeli teenagers were found killed in Halhul, north of Hebron, Palestine. Hamas, responding the massive air strike, has claimed firing rockets at Israeli major cities such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, and Hadera.
