TEMPO.CO, Kupang - The Jakarta administration, represented by Governor Joko "Jokowi"Widodo, plans to invest US$166.6 million in East Nusa Tenggara. The cooperation is to be legalized in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will be signed by the leaders of the two regions.
“Jokowi will arrive in Kupang tomorrow to sign the MoU,” East Nusa Tenggara public relations officer Lambert Ibiriti said on Monday, April 28, 2014.
Lambert revealed the money would be invested in cow farming development and meat factory construction. He added the cow farming development would be done in two regencies: East Sumba and Kupang, while the location of the meat factory had not been decided yet.
Lambert said the projects would be completed within three years so that East Nusa Tenggara would distribute beef as opposed to live cattle to Jakarta.
Lambert said Jokowi would ink the MoU with East Nusa Tenggara governor Frans Lebu Raya prior to giving a lecture at the University of Widya Mandira (Unwira) of Kupang.
