TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is still seeking clarification about seven Indonesian citizens reportedly onboard the ill-fated Malaysian Airlines Flight MH-370.
However, the KBRI continued to confirm the validity of the news. The names of those Indonesian citizens are Siregar Firman Chandra, Suadaya Herryindra, Sugianto Lo, Suadaya Ferry Indra, Tanurisam Indrasuria, Vinny Chynthyatio, and Wang Willysurijanto.
"We are clarifying the data to their next of kin. We don't want to make mistakes," said the Coordinator of Consular Function of the Indonesian Embassy, Dino Nurwahyudin to Tempo, Saturday, March 8, 2014.
Dino also said that the embassy has been working with the Directorate General of Immigration in checking the passports of the passengers given to the Malaysian Airlines. "We will make sure to their families whether or not that their family members went to Beijing," Dino said.
Malaysia Airlines previously confirmed that Flight MH370 disappeared at 2:40 am local time, about two hours after leaving Kuala Lumpur. It had been due to arrive in Beijing at 6:30 am local time. The Boeing 777-200, on a codeshare flight with China Southern Airlines, was carrying 227 passengers, including two infants from China and US, and 12 crew members.
